Concerning the communication skills necessary for medical doctors, concise and logical explanation, adequate awareness of cultural differences, and capacity to empathize were mainly highlighted.\nConclusions: It is necessary for medical doctors to have linguistic understanding of appropriate vocabulary that can be comprehended by foreign patients whose native language is not Japanese or English so as to provide concise and logical explanation.
