Shortly after graduation, Doyle contributed correspondence articles on some clinical cases to The Lancet, which is one of the most prestigious medical journals to date. After gaining popularity as a writer, he submitted a question about a criminal case in a manner similar to that of the detective. Furthermore, a conference abstract describing his thoughts on medicine was published in the same journal.\nNotably, 2023 marks the 200th anniversary of the first issue of The Lancet. This article presents Doyle’s papers published in The Lancet, along with citations to his letters and works related to Sherlock Holmes.“What were Conan Doyle’s papers, and what was their background?”will be addressed in this article.
